Project 52: Week 39

Week 39

Over the weekend I did some much needed yard work despite not feeling great (think I’m coming down with something). Twice a year there’s a dumpster where we can put our garden debris and I always mark that weekend in my calendar so I can get rid of everything. It’s arriving this weekend so I did all my cutting and made a big pile at the back of the house which I’ll transfer to the dumpster come Friday afternoon.

Also on last week’s to do list was baking. I did the bread but didn’t have time for the bagels. I also finished off the little closet in Wille’s bedroom. Had a deadline since he’s coming home later today. Yay, I’ve missed him!

And Miss Mini is looking as cute and cuddly as ever. Little brown blob.

Done!

Done! Or should I say handled?

Remember this post where I used washers to cover up the flaking paint on Wille’s closet doors after removing the old knobs? Well while the washers did a good job covering up the flaking wasn’t the only thing that bothered me about the closets. When I tore up the old floor I had a couple of tears to the trim which wasn’t looking very pretty and that new baseboard also wasn’t great looking, not being pure white with visible nail holes.

So with Wille away for a month I took the opportunity to remove the doors, patch, de-gloss and paint them and the frame.

Luckily the weather was still warm and sunny the first week of September so I could do all the sanding and patching outside.

And now I’m happy with the finished result. Wille probably won’t notice but I love that it’s finally done and so much cleaner looking.

Still one more project in his room which I hope to get to before he comes home. It’s behind that wallpapered door.

Mischievous Miss Mini II

Benita Larsson - Mini

Such a tiny kitty. She’s not called Mini for nothing.

Råttan kallare
Such a sizeable rat. We’re talking 15 cm (6”) + tail. It met it’s fate when encountering said little kitty.

I encountered it when I got back from work. Such a nice surprise.

Btw, I'm competing in the "Sight" category in the Metro Photo Challenge with my photo of Mini. Apparently you can vote for it but I have no idea how. If you figure it out, I'd happily accept your vote. Haha.  You can vote for my photo (or any other photo) by doing a mouse-over (no pun intended) over the photo and clicking the top round symbol on the right. Thank you!
